TORONTO, July 10 /CNW/ - Luxell Technologies Inc. (TSX:LUX) is pleased to
report it has received an order increase for a Multi-Function Display ("MFD")
unit first ordered by Rheinmetall Defence Electronics ("RDE"), of Bremen,
Germany, in 2005 and to be used in RDE's Loadmaster Control System
("Loadmaster") on the Airbus A400M.
Designed to meet a recognised requirement by European air forces for a
new airlifter the A400M is the next generation military cargo plane and
represents one of the most ambitious military procurement programmes
undertaken in Europe. Launched under a single contract in 2003 with 180 orders
for seven European launch customers, the A400M will offer greater flying range
and payload capability. It incorporates state-of-the-art materials and
features such as electronic flight controls, carbon composite structures and
an automated handling system intended to bring new standards of operability
and safety to military aircrews.
As the prime contractor and integrator of the Loadmaster Control System
on the AIRBUS A400M, RDE has now increased and confirmed a new order for the
Luxell MFD. The Loadmaster MFD was developed under contract from RDE to meet
the highest standards of ruggedization required for payload management
The new contract increases the value of the total order for LUXELL by
more than 300,000 Euros and provides for the supply of additional display
shipsets in flight worthy condition to support the final phase of
qualification of the aircraft.
Jean-Louis Larmor, Luxell's CEO, said that "we are very gratified by this
renewed sign of confidence from such a major European player. Our company has
worked hard with RDE in a very demanding environment for this new modern
aircraft and we are continuously making every effort to ensure we become one
of their preferred suppliers."
The companies are presently finalizing the details of the delivery rate
and production plan components of the contract, as well as the product support
for the aircraft (the order book now stands at 192 aircraft) over the next few
years. "We anticipate this could generate revenues in excess of 3 Million
Euros for Luxell," added Mr. Larmor.
