Loring Ward Reports September Assets

    NEW YORK, Oct. 12 /CNW/ - Loring Ward International Ltd. ("the Company")
(TSX:LW) announced today total assets under management of $5.8 billion at
September 30, 2007, an increase of $1.1 billion or 23.3% from the $4.7 billion
at December 31, 2006, and an increase of $1.5 billion or 34.3% from the
$4.3 billion at September 30, 2006.
    As at September 30, 2007, assets in the Company's turnkey asset
management program, increased to $5.5 billion, a $1.1 billion or 26.3%
increase over the $4.3 billion at December 31, 2006, and a $1.6 billion or
41.8% increase from the $3.8 billion at September 30, 2006. Net new assets
were $828 million for the first nine months of 2007, a 62.0% increase over the
first nine months of 2006. The number of independent advisors with assets at
Loring Ward reached 724, an increase of 32 quarter-to-date and 94
year-to-date. The number of client accounts reached 22,805, an increase of
1,508 quarter-to-date and 4,327 year-to-date.
    As at September 30, 2007, assets under management within the Company's
private client business, Loring Ward Capital Management, totaled $320 million,
a decrease of $45 million or 12.4% from $365 million at December 31, 2006, and
a decrease of $132 million or 29.3% from $452 million at September 30, 2006.
On September 28, 2007 the Company consummated the previously announced sale of
this business to The Wealth Collaborative. Concurrent with the sale, the
Company signed a five year services contract with The Wealth Collaborative
with terms based on a percentage of their revenue. Accordingly, The Wealth
Collaborative's assets under management will continue to be reported
separately in the Company's monthly asset reports.
