L'Oréal Brandstorm 2007: An effective way to recruit Marketing's very best talent

    MONTREAL, April 20 /CNW Telbec/ - L'Oréal Canada will be hosting its
5th edition of L'Oréal Brandstorm on April 23rd, an international marketing
and communication competition created to allow university students to showcase
their skills to the high management of the world's leading cosmetics group.
Serving as both a recruitment opportunity and professional training for
students, Brandstorm is only one of numerous initiatives by L'Oréal Canada
conceived to generate quality recruitment and to foster professional

    From the Classroom to the Boardroom

    During the project development phase, which precedes the national
competition round, the students from HEC Montréal and York University's
Schulich School of Business took on the role of Brand Managers for the Redken
for Men product line. Coached by their respective professors, they also worked
with the advertisement firm Publicis to develop effective communication and
marketing strategy campaigns.
    On Monday, the teams will present their visionary plans to a Jury
composed of industry experts and will compete for the chance to move ahead to
the Brandstorm International Final in Paris on June 14th. The Paris Final will
bring together students from 35 countries stretching over 5 continents. This
round of the contest will allow the chosen Canadian "Brand Managers" to test
their talents against teams from some of the world's most prestigious

    Promoting Innovative Recruitment and Training

allows students to gain real industry experience and apply their theoretical

participants have subsequently been recruited by L'Oréal over the last
