Listeriosis Crisis: Tests reveal that Fromagerie de L'Isle-aux-Grues Is Not Involved

MONTMAGNY, QC, Aug. 28 /CNW Telbec/ - Mr. Christian Vinet, General
Manager of Fromagerie de L'Isle-aux-Grues, met with media representatives
today to present the results of tests conducted by Laboratoires d'Analyse S.M.
"I am relieved today to have the absolute confirmation that our cheesemaking
plant is definitely not involved in the contamination of a small quantity of
the Riopelle de L'Isle cheese recalled this week by the Quebec Ministry of
Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ)," declared Mr. Vinet. On the other
hand, since the Tomme de Grosse Ile cheese is presently under investigation by
MAPAQ at one other sales outlet with no results yet available, Fromagerie de
L'Isle-aux-Grues' management has instructed its distributors to suspend in the
sake of prevention and for the next few days, all sales of three of its
products: Riopelle de L'Isle, Tomme de Grosse Ile and Mi-Carême. "We have
taken this decision because our chief concern is always the health, safety and
peace of mind of consumers," added Mr. Vinet.

    Conclusive Tests

Fromagerie de L'Isle-aux-Grues called upon Laboratoires d'Analyse S.M. to
conduct all required tests to draw the true conclusions and be able to take
all necessary measures to ensure the health safety of all. "We can now affirm
beyond doubt that all processes and measures we apply respecting health and
salubrity at the plant, the safety of Riopelle de L'Isle, and the health and
safety of our employees are truly and perfectly efficient," stated Mr. Vinet.
