LinGOx Academy Offers New Hands-On English Cooking Class to ESL Students

Students Learn Culinary Vocabulary in English and Practice in a
Professional Kitchen with a Genuine Vancouver Chef

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, December 19 /CNW/ - LinGOx Academy today
introduced its new English workshops and new English teaching concept. The
company offers one or two week long workshops during which ESL students and
professionals will learn specialized English and specific skills.

LinGOx has partnered with The International Culinary School at The Art
Institute of Vancouver to transform the traditional English classroom into a
kitchen and the kitchen into an English classroom. "Students love it," says
Marie Tamby, one of the co-founders of LinGOx. "We thought it was time to stop
the day dreaming in class and reintroduce some passion in English learning."
LinGOx plans to introduce several similar concrete workshops where students
can practice their passion when learning English.

This new workshop, called "Food from the Global Village," is geared
towards ESL students who love cooking or just want to learn English in a more
concrete way. The workshop would also be perfect for the tourism industry
associates with English as a second language. People always have difficulties
naming food ingredients, rare fish and vegetables.

With the LinGOx specialized ESL teachers, students learn about the foods,
dishes, culinary habits and curiosities from different parts of the world.
They discover the different ingredients and flavors. "Finally I can easily
explain in English how to cook my home country dishes," says Inhee Chon, a
LinGOx student from Korea. "I was learning all the time without feeling I was
at school."

The school conducts small classes, workshops of 4 to 6. Students from all
levels can join. "Our concept answers the need for students to approach
learning English in a much more concrete and interactive way. We are combining
solid and enthusiastic teaching with advanced technology such as Mp3 and
podcasts of lessons, multimedia and e-learning," says Marie Tamby, "and the
response from school agents and students has been wonderful."

LinGOx programs are visible at The food and
cooking class is downtown Monday through Friday, 2:30 to 4 p.m. Special start
price is $155 and includes the food prepared.
