    Company Announces Appointment of Vice President, Sales & Marketing

    BURNABY, BC, Aug. 19 /CNW/ - Having successfully concluded over thirty
long term beta trial sites in Canada and the United States, Legend Power
Systems Inc. (TSX-V: LPS) ("Legend Power"), in its move from R&D to
commercialization, announces the launch of its North American sales and
marketing program and the appointment of tech industry veteran, David E. Orton
as Vice President, Sales & Marketing.
    Legend Power's CEO, Gerry Gill commented, "The success of our beta trial
program, the endorsement from both the BC Hydro Power Smart program as well as
Ontario conservation funding programs, and the huge momentum in green
technologies and energy conservation awareness has set the stage for a strong
commercial launch into the North American market." Mr. Gill continued, "The
addition of David Orton as Vice President, Sales & Marketing brings bench
strength in the commercialization of new technologies both domestically and
internationally, positioning us for strong growth right out of the gate."
    Mr. Orton's background includes over 14 years of senior marketing and
sales roles in fast paced high tech environments including tenures at Bell
Canada's satellite communications group as VP Business Development &
Marketing, Rogers Communications and Glentel Mobile Satellite. In addition to
work throughout Canada and the US, David has extensive business development
experience in China, India, and Thailand where he worked with large OEMs and
NGOs, developing local channel partners and leveraging Industry Canada's ICT
Trade support.
