WASHINGTON, DC, Nov. 2, 2011 /CNW/ - Keith Lipton, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Washington, DC region, announced today that industry veteran Chip Ryan and his leading investment sales team have joined Avison Young to further expand the firm's capital-markets business in the U.S. Capital Region.

Effective immediately, Ryan, Jim Kornick and Matt Clinebell join Avison Young as Principals; Adam Roffman joins as a Vice-President; and Cody Wilder as Marketing Coordinator.

The team will be based in the company's Washington, DC office. All five members were most recently with NorthMarq Capital in Washington, DC.

Ryan, Kornick and Clinebell bring sales, acquisition and financing capabilities to Avison Young's growing presence in the region. Past and current clients include Clarion Partners, TA Associates, First Potomac, BPG, RREEF, Guardian Realty Investors and numerous local developers/owners. The team's notable transaction list includes Doctors Community Hospital, Westwood Office, Verizon's Ashburn Campus, 1150 18th Street, N.W., and MetroPark. The group is also the dominant medical-office-building sales team in the Washington/Baltimore region.

"I am very excited to have Chip and the entire team join us at Avison Young. They form one of Washington, DC's leading investment sales teams, and their arrival expands our local ability to advise our clients on market valuations, sales expertise and disposition strategies," comments Lipton. "Filling in our investment sales discipline with proven performers who fit our culture was the next logical step as we grow in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area and strategically develop our full-service platform in the region."

"We are fortunate to have Chip, Jim, Matt and team on board in Washington to anchor our investment sales and financial business for the Mid-Atlantic region," says Earl Webb, Avison Young's President, U.S. Operations. "Over the last 30 years, they have built an impressive roster of clients and business that aligns extremely well with our existing brokerage professionals. Avison Young will continue to seek out industry experts and market leaders who can expand our U.S. footprint and deliver the highest level of advisory services to our clients."

Over the past two and a half years, Avison Young has grown from 11 to 25 offices and from 300 to more than 800 real estate professionals across Canada and the U.S.

"Avison Young is executing a national expansion plan in the major U.S. markets, and we are very excited to be part of the company's growth plans," says Ryan. "Keith Lipton's success at assembling some of the region's most recognized and successful broker teams makes this a very attractive move."

"I find Avison Young to be the most dynamic and fastest-growing real estate firm in North America, and I am pleased to be continuing my career at Avison Young and to be a part of building the company's investment sales service line in the region," adds Kornick. "I look forward to working with the DC and national team and offering intelligent solutions to meet our clients' real estate objectives."
