Le Château celebrates $18,000 donation to the David Suzuki Foundation

    MONTREAL, Jan. 28 /CNW Telbec/ - Le Château, Canada's leading national
retailer of globally-inspired fashion, takes steps towards helping the
environment by making an $18,000 donation to the David Suzuki Foundation.
As part of a program that launched in September 2008, Le Château has
teamed up with DSF, the well-respected environmental conservation
organization, to design and sell a chic reusable tote bag exclusively in their
220+ store chain. All the proceeds from the sale of the bags are donated to
the David Suzuki Foundation.
The proceeds of this initiative have so far totaled $18,000, and the
presentation of this cheque was celebrated in Le Château's Montreal Eaton
Centre location yesterday afternoon. Le Château spokesperson Marlene Robillard
as well as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing Franco Rocchi were on
hand to personally present David Suzuki Foundation CEO, Peter Robinson with
the donation cheque.
As a proudly Canadian retailer, Le Château continues to recognize the
importance of contributing to the Canadian organizations that strive to make a
difference to improve environmental protection within our country, now and in
the future.
Co-Founded in 1990 by David T. Suzuki PhD, the David Suzuki Foundation
has been working to find ways for society to exist with balance in our
environment, and with respect for the natural world. The Foundation uses
science and education to promote solutions that conserve nature and hopes to
help achieve sustainability within a generation.
