TORONTO, March 18 /CNW/ - Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: LME)
("Laurion") is pleased to provide an update on the results of the geophysical
surveys completed on the Lydian ("Lydian"), and the German ("German") Projects
and drill results from the Enid-Massey Project ("Enid-Massey") located in the
- 11km of IP/Resistivity and MAG Surveys completed on the Lydian
Property identified a chargeability zone corresponding with known
gold mineralization associated with the Pipestone Fault. The
chargeabilty anomaly is located along strike of previous gold
intersections, and represents an untested strike length of 600m along
the favourable structure.
- 6km IP/Resistivity and 14km of MAG Surveys completed on the German
Property untested gold targets
- Both property targets to be drill tested in early April 2008
Lydian Project: Laurion 50% interest
Geophysical results have been received from JVX Ltd of Richmond Hill,
Ontario. A 750 metre long chargeability zone will be targeted by an upcoming
drill program scheduled for the beginning of April. The IP zone corresponds
with a known east-west trending gold zone located immediately to the south of
the Pipestone fault. Over 600 metres of the chargeability zone directly to the
east of the historical drilling remains untested. Historical intersections
include assays of 0.17 ounces Au per ton over 14.0 feet (DDH EC-96-2).
German Project: 75% interest
In February, an IP and magnetometer survey was completed on a select
portion of the property. The survey was designed to follow up on a previous
intersection reported to assay 0.32 ounces Au per ton over 4.9 feet (DDH
The survey identified a chargeability zone that corresponds to the
gold-bearing graphitic argillite unit that was intersected in drill hole 86-2.
The chargeabilty zone corresponds with an untested strike length of
approximately 350m to the east of drill hole 86-2 along the prolific volcanic
- sedimentary contact. Drilling is planned to test this area as it is a
favourable environment for gold mineralization.
Enid Massey Project: Laurion 100% interest
Results from the Phase Four Exploration program in the Santrap and ZED'or
areas returned anomalous values. Field work is planned for the Cote-Bihar and
North Areas during the upcoming field season.
