"La Vie en rose" by Olivier Dahan - Premiere with Marion Cotillard in attendance - Cinéma Impérial, March 13, 7 p.m. - Wide release in Quebec March 16

    MONTREAL, Feb. 28 /CNW Telbec/ - TVA Films is proud to announce that
after opening the 57th Berlin International Film Festival, where it received a
standing ovation lasting over 15 minutes, La Vie en rose, directed by
Olivier Dahan (Les Rivières Pourpres 2) will open across Quebec on March 16.
The film's premiere will be held on March 13 at 7 p.m. at the Cinéma Impérial
with Marion Cotillard, who delivers an uncanny portrayal of Edith Piaf, in
    La Vie en rose recreates the remarkable life and times of Edith Piaf,
from childhood to glory, through tragedy and triumph, from Paris to New York.
More incredible than fiction, this biography exposes the soul of an artist and
the heart of a woman. Intimate and intense, fragile yet indestructible,
willing to sacrifice everything for her art: Edith Piaf is a true immortal.
    Born into grinding poverty, Edith Piaf became an iconic figure of French
song and a worldwide superstar. In addition to being a writer and singer of
hit songs, she was also a trendsetter who launched careers by shining the
spotlight on artists who sometimes achieved fame on a par with her own. Edith
Piaf's life was truly extraordinary, with her fame tempered by a series of
tragedies and her impulsive spirit that always burned bright. The film is a
moving tribute to this amazing woman affectionately nicknamed la Môme (the
    La Vie en rose is a major French production made at a cost of
(euro) 20 million. It opened in France on February 14, and has already been
seen by nearly three million people in its first two weeks of release. The
