Our Place Peel is launching a new program H.Y.P.E. (Helping Youth Prepare
Effectively) for at risk youth 16 to 21 who are living on their own
independently in the Region of Peel.
This program was developed to support youth who leave the shelter and
find accommodation but often struggle on their own to stay in the community on
a long term basis.
The H.Y.P.E. Program will focus on two primary areas of support for the
youth. The first will be to develop the skills to successfully acquire and
maintain long term employment. The second will be to complete their high
school education and pursue college or university or possibly entering an
apprenticeship program.
This program is designed to help the youth develop skills necessary to
advert crisis and maintain stability long term to live as contributing members
within the community.
