MONCTON, N.B., Nov. 15 /CNW Telbec/ - At a recent meeting between J.D. Irving Ltd and CEP Local 113 in Kedgwick, the Company advised the Local executive that the sawmill will remain closed for an indefinite period of time due to the current market's economy and the high value of the Canadian dollar. The company also indicated that it does not foresee a return to work for the mill's employees before March 2008. Monthly meetings to evaluate the situation are planned between the Company and the Union. A change in the economy will mean an earlier or later return to work for the employees. In the meantime, CEP Local 108 continues to cut wood and it continues to be stored at the mill in Kedgwick.
