FRANKFURT, Germany, March 6 /CNW/ -- Avaya Inc. (NYSE: AV), a leading

Juergen Gallmann joined Avaya as managing director of Avaya Germany effective
March 2, 2007.
Gallmann will be responsible for all Avaya operations in Germany,
including sales, marketing and services. Gallmann will report to Charles Ill,
senior vice president Global Sales, Avaya.
"Juergen Gallmann brings to Avaya a broad portfolio of experience in the
information technology market," said Charles Ill. "His background in managing
significant software operations fits well with our ongoing strategy to provide
increasing value to customers through communications applications. His

president, EMEA for Microsoft. Previously he was responsible for the Software
Group, Central Region of IBM Deutschland.
Gallman is a member of the Board of the Munich Circle, a non-profit
association dedicated to communications research that supports the
development, testing and introduction of new telecommunications systems.
Additionally, he serves on the Presiding Committee of BITKOM, the German
Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media e.V.
and is on the Board of Trustees of the Goethe Duke Business School in
