Judge orders new process within auto parts dispute; auto-giants to verify ownership of tooling and parts taken from Transcast Precision Inc.

    TORONTO, April 15 /CNW/ - Wallaceburg-based Transcast Precision Inc.
(Transcast), an auto parts manufacturer, is pleased that on Thursday, April
9th, Madam Justice Hoy ordered Chrysler, GM, Magna and Gates to provide an
inventory list of tooling and parts taken from each Transcast location, as
well as proof of payment.
"The most recent court order by Madam Justice Hoy places both auto giants
and parts suppliers on equal footing and ensures both fairness and
transparency within a fast moving legal dispute," said Dean Topolinksi,
President, Transcast Precision Inc. "In many ways, these legal proceedings are
about establishing a new era of fairness within Canada's manufacturing sector
- one that must respect the rights of all parties. It is only on that
foundation that manufacturing can be a sustainable and vibrant part of
Canada's future."
In effort to raise awareness among all relevant parties - from employees
to Canadian taxpayers - of the current dispute between Transcast and Chrysler,
the auto parts manufacturing company has started a Facebook group -
'Responsible Auto Parts Manufacturing' to facilitate open dialogue.
