J.K. Irving to be honoured as a champion of public education - The Learning Partnership's Tribute Luncheon

    SAINT JOHN, NB, Sept. 20 /CNW/ -

    WHAT:     More than 650 leaders in business, government and education,
              together with students and teachers, will be celebrating
              excellence at The Learning Partnership's 2007 New Brunswick
              Tribute Luncheon. Mr. J.K. Irving is being honoured for his
              significant contributions to public education in New Brunswick,
              including the establishment of the Pals for Prince Charles
              Partnership program.

              The Learning Partnership Tribute Events honour outstanding
              individuals whose life long passion, dedication, generosity,
              and commitment have contributed to making the Canadian public
              education system one of the best in the world. Events have
              taken place in Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, and now Saint John.
              Funds raised at this Tribute Luncheon will directly support The
              Learning Partnership programs in New Brunswick, including the
              expansion of Welcome to Kindergarten(TM)/ Bienvenue à la
              MaternelleMC throughout the province.
