Jays Care Foundation throws The Curve Ball of the year

    TORONTO, June 3 /CNW/ - The Jays Care Foundation rolls out the FieldTurf
on THURSDAY, June 4 at 6:30 p.m. for THE CURVE BALL presented by Rogers
Communications Inc.
    With the stunning and glamorous backdrop of the ROYAL ONTARIO MUSEUM,
guests have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the 2009 Toronto Blue Jays
Team as well as the "it" crowd from business and entertainment at this
sold-out gala fundraiser. Its "baseball with a twist"! Guests will be greeted
with baseball-themed snacks, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and Blue SKYY Lemonades
in a cocktail reception by SKYY Vodka. Everyone will have the opportunity to
take part in a spirited live and silent auction filled with once in a lifetime
packages, priceless sports memorabilia, unique gifts and amazing travel
opportunities. Toronto's elite crowd will enjoy divine cuisine by Daniel &
Daniel and an exciting program not to be missed.
    Citytv's Dina Pugliese and Kevin Frankish serve as co-Masters of
Ceremonies for the evening and a special guest entertainer presented by
Publicis & OMD, promises to steal the show! Prior to the start of the evening,
The Self-Esteem Academy Singers, who received a grant from the Jays Care
Foundation for their after-school arts and education program, will entertain
the crowd. Also in attendance will be several members of the 1989 Blue Jays
American League Championship team including Tony Fernandez, Duane Ward, Kelly
Gruber, Mookie Wilson, Tom Henke, Jesse Barfield and more.

    As the charitable arm of the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club, the Jays
Care Foundation is governed by an independent, volunteer Board of Directors
with a vision to use the sport of baseball, the reach of the Toronto Blue Jays
Baseball Club, and the resources committed to the Foundation to serve children
in need in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. Money raised through this
event directly supports charitable organizations, community programs and
initiatives focused on improving opportunities for kids in the areas of
physical activity, education and life-skill development.
