Jack Ilios Launches 13th Charity Barbeque June 7 to benefit Bayview Community Services Inc.

    TORONTO, June 6 /CNW/ - Broadway Cleaners' Jack Ilios will host his 13th
annual souvlaki charity barbeque this June 7 from 12-4 pm, which for the
fourth year will benefit Bayview Community Services Inc. (BCS), an
organization that assists those with mental illnesses to live within their
    Attendees will enjoy freshly barbequed souvlaki or hot dogs on buns with
choice of toppings for only $3 and $2 respectively. Fruit Drinks, provided by
Allfresh Juice Company will also be available at a nominal cost. There will be
music, prizes, clowns, balloon art, face painting, professional relaxation
massages, a live band with dancers and loads of fun, in a street party
atmosphere. Seating is provided complements of In and Out Outdoor Furniture.
Cool tee shirts provided by New Market Graphic Services and Broadway Cleaners
will also be available.
    Ilios has operated Broadway Cleaners at 929 Mount Pleasant Road for
twenty-two years and takes this opportunity annually to give something back to
his community and adopted country. Jack says, "Each and every one of us has a
responsibility to help those less fortunate."
    BCS helps adult men and women with mental health problems who are in need
and want supported housing and life skills development or Case Management
support, to help them live successfully and satisfactorily in the community.
    "My father has a heart of gold and he always wants to share his good
fortune with those who are less fortunate," said Helen Ilios, Jack's daughter.
"By helping a local charity like Bayview Community Services, my father is
expressing his commitment to his community, his neighbors and his friends."
    "We rely on our community to help us to deliver programs and services
which are essential but not currently funded by government," said Harry
Spindel, Executive Director of Bayview Community Services. "Last year, we
provided housing or case management services to more than 81 clients with
serious and persistent mental illness. Every dollar raised will make a
difference to the programs in our community."
