Italian Fugitive Arrested

    TORONTO, Aug. 7 /CNW/ - On Thursday August 7, 2008 at approximately
12:55 pm members of the Immigration Task Force arrested Guiseppe COLUCCIO, an
Italian national, at a strip mall in Markham. COLUCCIO was wanted on a
Canada-Wide Immigration Warrant for an Admissibility Hearing under the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
    Guiseppe COLUCCIO, aged 41, a citizen of Italy, is currently being held
in custody on an Immigration hold. He is also wanted by Italian authorities
for drug related offences.
    "Cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the community is
essential in meeting the challenges of apprehending high-risk individuals who
pose a threat to our society. The arrest of these criminals, and their removal
from Canada, can only improve public and community safety." said RCMP Sgt.
Tony Gollob of the Immigration Task Force.
    The ITF is composed of members from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police,
Canada Border Service Agency and Provincial ROPE members from the Ontario
Provincial Police and Toronto Police Service.
