Canadian Alpine Ski Team and partnership announcement kicks off 2008-2009
TORONTO, Oct. 28 /CNW/ - On Tuesday, October 28th Alpine Canada Alpin
(ACA) will unveil the 2008-2009 Canadian Alpine Ski Team at the Panasonic
Theatre in Toronto, ON. In support of this announcement, Panasonic Canada Inc.
has inked a new sponsorship with ACA to provide athletes across the country
with industry-leading digital technology and provide additional funding to
offset soaring foreign exchange costs.
In addition, five Canadian skiers will be equipped throughout the season
with Panasonic HD technology to record their life as athletes, both in
training and in their leisure time for the HD Moments program, an online look
into the world of alpine ski racing through the eyes of the athletes.
Participating racers include: 2007 Coupe Nor-Am Cup champion Marie-Michèle
Gagnon of Quebec; Paul Stutz and Shona Rubens from Alberta; Robbie Dixon from
British Columbia and Ontario born para-alpine ski racer Chris Williamson.
