TORONTO, July 5 /CNW/ - Join Kraft Peanut Butter Bears 'Smoothie' and
'Crunchy' as they share free hugs at Ontario Place in an effort to put an end
to hunger in the GTA. For each hug given, Kraft Peanut Butter will donate one
jar of Kraft Peanut Butter to Daily Bread Food Bank. For those who can't make
it to Ontario Place, help spread the feeling online by visiting
spreadthefeeling.ca to send a virtual hug. Whether online or in person, Kraft
hopes to generate enough hugs to donate up to 10,000 500 g jars of peanut
butter to Daily Bread Food Bank.
Daily Bread Food Bank experiences a steep decline in donations during the
summer months when many Torontonians are on vacation. Unfortunately hunger
never takes a vacation, which means donations are especially important this
time of year to feed the nearly 80,000 people who visit GTA food banks every
month. Peanut butter is an important food product as it is a source of 5
essential nutrients. With approximately 34% of the 953,000 people who visited
Daily Bread Food Bank in the last year being children, peanut butter can help
them by being a part of the balanced diet they require.
