International hospitality trade show to be held at Montreal's Place Bonaventure, February 8-10, 2009

MONTREAL, Jan. 30 /CNW Telbec/ - The Hotel and Restaurant Suppliers
Association Inc. (HRSA) is pleased to announce its upcoming Salon Rendez-vous
HRI, which will run from February 8 to 10 at Place Bonaventure in Montreal.
The event will feature some 400 exhibitors - Salon registrants who are
suppliers to the HRI industry and represent food product, processing,
equipment, accessory, service and technology vendors - located on all five (5)
levels of the Place Bonaventure exhibit areas. The theme for this year's Salon
is "A World of Resources".
Close to 17,000 visitors - including local and internationally-based
proprietors, managers, buyers and users - are expected to attend the event,
where they will be able to discuss, assess and conduct negotiations for the
products and services exhibited in order to improve their businesses'
This major Canadian event will officially open on Sunday, February 8,
2009, at 10:00 a.m., at the Hotel of Tomorrow, located in the Place
Bonaventure exhibit areas. Exhibitors and visitors numbering in the hundreds
will be joined by several distinguished guests, including Philoména Rotiroti,
parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Tourism; Alan DeSousa, City of
Montréal Executive Committee member responsible for economic development;
members of the HRSA Board of Directors; Victor Francoeur, the Association's
President & CEO; and Richard Desmarais, publisher of Le Pot au Feu and
official spokesperson for the 2009 Salon.
One of several key points of interest at this Salon will be the 2009
Hotel of Tomorrow - a 10,000-square-foot structure that the thousands of
attendees at this event will have an opportunity to explore. This extremely
modern-look concept, built on two (2) storeys this year, will encompass the
latest trends in the hotel industry and reflect the know-how of its
Quebec-based suppliers. The various components of this structure will be
combined with the most recent "smart" development and state-of-the-art
high-tech elements available in today's market.
The conference program, which will also include presentations, specially
themed dinners and training and information workshops, can be viewed at the
HRSA's website (<a href=""></a>).
Despite today's challenging economic conditions, both in Canada and
worldwide, the HRSA is pleased to support the industry's suppliers and, by
extension, their hotel, restaurant and institution clients through the 2009
Salon Rendez-vous HRI. The Association invites all exhibitors, as well as its
other partners, to benefit from the business opportunities available and exit
the current economic conditions more strongly positioned, due to the
relevance, quality and effectiveness of the products, services and solutions
on offer, many of which will be presented at this year's Salon.
As Victor Francoeur pointed out, "We cannot give in to dejection and let
the pessimistic among us continue to believe that their individual actions
will have no impact in today's turmoil! It's time, right now, to seek out the
opportunities in our industry that will result from this crisis. 'What
opportunities?' you ask. There'll be plenty of them for those who are not
ready to throw in the towel. We may have to change our processes, review our
operating costs, be more attentive to the needs of our respective client
bases... this type of support is a key benefit that the 2009 Salon Rendez-vous
HRI will deliver to all industry visitors and exhibitors."

The Hotel and Restaurant Suppliers Association Inc., which will mark its
75th anniversary in 2010, represents a central player today in an industry
that's worth more than $72 billion in Canada and represents approximately
45,000 suppliers - 10,000 of which are located throughout Quebec.

The HRSA invites all news media to visit the 2009 Salon.
