Interactive Gaming Council Appoints Canadian Lawyer as New Chief Executive

    Priorities include promoting responsible gaming and codifying best

    VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 4 /CNW/ -- The Interactive Gaming
Council (IGC) announces the appointment of John Kennedy FitzGerald, a
respected lawyer and industry veteran, as its Chief Executive.
    FitzGerald, a lawyer in private practice in Toronto, served on the board
of the IGC during his term as General Counsel of CryptoLogic Inc., a leading
i-gaming software provider listed on the TSX, NASDAQ and London Stock
Exchange. Subsequent to his tenure with CryptoLogic, FitzGerald worked as a
legal consultant and strategic advisor to some of the industry's largest and
most reputable interactive gaming companies.
    "John FitzGerald is one of the interactive gaming industry's leading
lights, and he has a track record of turning competitors into collaborators,"
said John Anderson, Chairman of the Board of the IGC. "As the Interactive
Gaming Council's new Chief Executive, John will be an outstanding leader for

    As Chief Executive, Fitzgerald succeeds Rick Smith, who led the
organization for more than seven years. Anderson thanked Smith for his long
