INK Entertainment and Rubino Restaurants launch Ame

Contemporary Japanese Restaurant to open in space formerly known as Rain

TORONTO, April 27 /CNW/ - Charles Khabouth, owner and operator of INK
Entertainment, collaborates with acclaimed Canadian duo Guy and Michael Rubino
to launch Ame (pronounced Ahmay), a contemporary Japanese restaurant in the
heart of Toronto slated to open this June. Undergoing a complete renovation
and redesign, the newly titled Ame will be a conversion from the previous
Rain, offering a completely Japanese menu. Overseen by Executive chef Guy
Rubino, the interactive open kitchen concept will feature sushi and sashimi, a
custom made Robata grill and a late-night menu for downtown urbanites and
foodies alike.
"Ame is the Japanese term for Rain" says Restauranteur Michael Rubino.
"After ten years at this location, we are excited to introduce this new
expanded menu and restaurant concept that will not only offer unique food
choices, but also give the consumer direct control over how much they would
like to spend."
Designed by International Award-winning firm Munge Leung, the new space
will introduce heritage woods throughout. Boasting a custom private dining
room to seat 24, an expanded dining area complete with a Japanese lounge and a
custom sake bar, Ame will be a welcome culinary addition to Toronto's
entertainment district.
"The Rubino Brothers share my passion for creative cuisine and design"
says Charles Khabouth. "They have a dynamic, detailed and worldy approach to
food preparation and presentation along with an established history in the
culinary arts. Ame is the perfect venture for us to partner on."
Ame is slated to open in June 2009 and is located at 19 Mercer Street.
