Information regarding the resignation of Dr. Jack Shevel from the board of Alegro Health Corp.

    RANCHO SANTA FE, CA, July 9 /CNW/ - Dr Jack Shevel resigned as a Director
of Alegro Health Corp. (the "Corporation" or "Alegro") (TSX-V: AGO), on June
25, 2008. The reasons for Dr. Shevel's resignation were provided to the
Corporation in a written statement in accordance with the Canada Business
Corporations Act. In addition, Dr. Shevel also withdrew his name from the
slate of directors standing for election at the annual and special meeting of
the Corporation held on June 27, 2008 as the Circular and Form of Proxy were
specifically designed to remove him from office.
    The Board of Directors has elected not to disclose the Statement referred
to above to the shareholders of the Corporation. A copy of the Statement has
been provided to the Director under the Canada Business Corporations Act.
    The Statement highlights Dr Shevel's concern relating to the performance
of the Corporation and the deterioration of the strategic alliance referred to
in previous Alegro press releases.
    GHIS will continue to honor its Consulting agreement with the Corporation
and looks forward to working with the newly constituted Board of Directors.

    About Dr. Jack Shevel

    Dr. Shevel was appointed to the board of the Corporation in connection
with the strategic alliance between the Corporation and Global Healthcare
Investments & Solutions ("GHIS") that was completed on July 13, 2007. He is a
founder, director and the president of GHIS. Dr. Shevel has over 20 years of
healthcare investment, strategy, operations and investment experience. Prior
to founding GHIS, he was founder and CEO of Network Healthcare Holdings
Limited ("Netcare"), one of the largest healthcare enterprises outside of the
United States, with operations in Southern Africa and the United Kingdom. Dr.
Shevel also practiced as a medical doctor for nine years before becoming
involved in hospital management in 1989. For many years Dr. Shevel has
consulted to numerous governments and currently serves on selected
sub-committees of the International Finance Corporation (a member of the World
Bank Group) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
