Industry momentum: IPICO Sprints Forward in Sports Timekeeping

BURLINGTON, ON, Dec. 4 /CNW/ - IPICO Inc. (TSX-V:RFD) is pleased to
report that its distribution relationship with Mercury Sports Group Inc. is
proving to be a winning combination in North America and beyond. In
March 2007, Peoria, Illinois-based Mercury, (IPICO Sports) signed on as the
exclusive global distributor of sports timekeeping tags powered by IPICO's
Dual Frequency RFID technology. The exclusive arrangement contemplates minimum
aggregate revenues to IPICO Inc. of $6 million during the initial 24 months of
the contract.

Since the initial market introduction, IPICO Sports has shipped readers
and tags to 16 countries, where runners and cyclists have been timed with
IPICO technology. Timekeeping organizations around the world are taking
advantage of the reliable, detailed data capture afforded by IPICO. Notably:

    - At the 2007 BolderBOULDER 10k Memorial Day run, more than
45,000 participants raced with IPICO Sports Sportags(TM) laced to
their shoes. This was the race organizer's first use of digital
technology. Based on the success of the first event, the organizers
of BolderBOULDER have extended the relationship with IPICO Sports
        through 2011.

    - Nearly 22,000 finishers in the Nike Run Americas 10k in Mexico City
had their split and finish times recorded by their IPICO tags branded
with the Nike 10k logo. Following the successful finish, event
organizers Sport Promotion announced a new, five-year relationship
with IPICO Sports for collaboration on future events.

    - Also this November, 9,500 cyclists at New Zealand's Wattyl Lake Taupo
Cycle Challenge raced the 160km Avanti Classic Race equipped with
IPICO timing technology. Event organizer Times-7 reported
100 per cent data capture and noted the ease of system set up. The
success at the Wattyl Lake Taupo Cycle challenge has already
generated interest from other international events, according to

    - End Result, Inc., the largest sports timing company in the United
States, converted 100 per cent of its timekeeping systems to IPICO
        technology this past summer.

"IPICO's IP-X air interface protocol delivers signals in more demanding
conditions, which makes it ideal for all-weather, mass start sporting events
and an ideal platform for building our sports timekeeping business," said
IPICO Sports President and Chief Technology Officer Philip Lockwood.
In addition to Sports Timekeeping, IPICO's lines of business target the
electronic vehicle identification (EVI), container identification and
security, extreme environment, and paper reel markets.
