Increasing national support for Laibar Singh

    VANCOUVER, Aug. 17 /CNW/ - A rapidly growing national network is
demanding that Immigration Minister Diane Finlay accept paralyzed refugee
claimant Mr. Laibar Singh on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.
    The Canadian Labour Congress, MP Andrew Telegdi, MP Libby Davies, and MLA
Jenny Kwan have added their names to a growing list of supporters including MP
Ujjal Dosanjh, MP Nina Grewal, MP Sukh Dhaliwal, MP Bill Siksay, MLA Harry
Bains, BC Coalition of People with Disabilities, Hospital Employees Union,
Association of Chinese Canadians for Equality and Solidarity Society,
Multifaith Action Committee, Interfaith Institute at Simon Fraser University,
and dozens of Sikh temples and other community groups.
