    Hotel Value for Money Index for the First Half of 2009:

    NUREMBERG, Germany, Aug. 13 /CNW/ -  "Was your hotel worth the money?"
This was the question investigated by, the free online hotel
reservation service for over 210,000 hotels worldwide.
is analyses more than 1 million hotel ratings awarded by booking
customers from around the world in terms of the price performance of 3 and 4
star hotels. The Hotel Value for Money Index for mid 2009 has some
surprising results, in comparison with the ranking at the end of 2008.

    A summary of the most important facts:

    -   During the economic crisis, guest satisfaction with hotels has risen
    -   Hotels in Lisbon at top of the tree; major cities like London, Moscow
        or New York out of the running; Ottawa in 12th place
    -   Canadian hotels offer conditional value for money in world
        comparison, Sarnia defends first place in front of Mississauga
    -   Prince George, Markham and Whistler all among the top places.
        Vancouver, Edmonton and Kingston (Ontario) record below-average
        ratings. Toronto only in the mid-field
