MONTREAL, Dec. 6 /CNW Telbec/ - The 1st skincare brand of L'Oreal Canada
Group's luxury products division is proud to announce a new property of Pure
Thermal Plankton(*), the unique ingredient contained in all of its products.
This new discovery opens the door to a new generation of skin care products.
A study conducted in partnership with Stanford University revealed a
newfound property of Pure Thermal Plankton: it works to stimulate skin cells'
natural internal defenses against external aggressions, the main factors in
aging. This discovery shows that the effects of Pure Thermal Plankton can be
compared to the effects and benefits that nutritional probiotics have on
intestinal cells. Such findings indicate that Pure Thermal Plankton functions
like the ideal probiotic for the skin, hence the patented name, the
1st "dermobiotic(TM)"-natural, pure and active.
"This discovery gives Biotherm the opportunity to strongly reaffirm our
positioning as a Natural and Effective brand and to pursue our high-growth
objectives," says Yosser Zmitri, Biotherm's Marketing Director.
At a time when health concerns are becoming increasingly important,
Biotherm's dermobiotic represents a major turning point for Biotherm. This
discovery allows the brand to create an entirely new vision of skin
care-healthier, more responsible and longer-lasting.
By the beginning of 2008, the dermobiotic will feature in a new logo on
all product packaging, as well as in brand and product communications
campaigns. The dermobiotic logo will also be displayed at all POS and on the
brand's Internet site.
One of the Canadian leaders in the luxury skin care market(xx), Biotherm
was created in 1952 and purchased by L'Oreal in 1970. The brand is present in
nearly 70 countries.
(*) Twenty years of research were needed to isolate and reproduce this
unique active ingredient through bio-fermentation. Pure Thermal
Plankton, patented by BIOTHERM, soothes and regenerates the skin.
(xx) Total skin care market department store & drugstores: women's face
care, body care, sun care, and men' s skin care.
