injury in Canada, IKEA Canada has initiated a voluntary recall today on a limited number
of the PAX AURLAND Wardrobe Glass Mirror Doors. The large mirror can
detach and fall, creating sharp shards when it breaks.
At IKEA, the safety and security of our customers and co-workers is a
top priority. IKEA asks that all customers with a PAX AURLAND mirror
door from supplier #12650 immediately contact IKEA at 1-800-661-9807 to
arrange for a free replacement door.
Name of product: PAX AURLAND wardrobe glass mirror door
Units: 1608 pieces in Canada
Hazard: The large mirror can detach and fall, creating sharp shards when it
breaks. The mirror is heavy and combined with the risk of breaking it
poses a hazard to users.
Incidents/Injuries: IKEA has received fourteen reports of incidents with detached mirrors.
One of the incidents resulted in a minor injury.
Description: This recall involves the PAX AURLAND wardrobe glass mirror door, model
number 101-604-51. PAX AURLAND, IKEA, the supplier number (12650) and
date stamp (YYWW) is printed on the rear mirror door, lower edge.
Sold exclusively at: IKEA from August 2009 through September 2011 for $90.00.
