IgeaCare System Inc. and Panasonic announces interoperability between Panasonic PBX systems and IgeaCare's line powered telephony base e-call and nurse call solution

    TORONTO, March 30 /CNW/ - IgeaCare Systems Inc. and Panasonic today
announced the completion of testing and interoperability for the world's first
line powered telephony based e-call and nurse call solution with the Panasonic
KX-TDA family of PBX products,
    The igeacom(R) series of resident and patient units, call cord, hardwired
or wireless pull cords, and dome lights work together to provide total in room
monitoring. Panasonic brings these feature rich platforms to unify all
communication needs for healthcare facilities. The igeacom(R) patient and
resident units, once connected to Panasonic's communication solutions, will
provide traditional nurse call features and bring state of the art telephony
functionality and ease of use to the healthcare industry.
    The IgeaCare solution powered by Panasonic's PBX systems provides
unprecedented reliability. The requirements of each individual facility will
determine the scalability and scope of the total solution. Patient/resident
and administrative telephone services and emergency event notification can
coexist on a unified platform and keep everyone within a facility connected at
all times. Furthermore the IgeaCare/ Panasonic solution allows facilities to
reuse existing infrastructure and reduces the cost of deploying an e-call
    In addition, the joint solution allows ease of communication with
standard analog, digital and or IP telephony desk sets and the Panasonic
Wireless Handsets. It provides intuitive operation and eliminates the need for
specialized training. The system provides real-time event notification and
acknowledgement on any visual display. The solution can also allow for
priority audible tone, automated speech notification and transmission of
clinical information.
