IgeaCare and Orange Business Services Combine Capabilities to deliver End-to-End Telemedicine Solution

Healthcare Providers can now deliver a magnitude of solutions remotely,
    securely and cost effectively

PARIS, Aug. 2 /CNW/ - IgeaCare Systems Inc., a leader in healthcare
applications, and Orange Business Services, the business communications arm
for the France Telecom Group (NYSE: FTE), will jointly deliver a suite of
Healthcare Applications over a secure communications infrastructure throughout
the U.S. and Canada to support the Tele-Homecare and Telemedicine market. The
companies are working together to enable healthcare providers to optimize the
cost of home nursing with the right mix of technology and hands-on care.
With its advanced intelligent solutions for disease and wellness
management, IgeaCare is relying on Orange Business Services for fully managed
private networks, data center management, integration services and
collaborative solutions. With the combined technologies, healthcare providers
can now both monitor patients' health conditions at home and also reach
colleagues, partners and customers with devices and applications they
regularly use.
IgeaCare is focused on driving improvements in home healthcare delivery
by reducing overall costs, increasing resource utilization and enabling
improvements in patient outcomes across a wide range of illness, while seeking
to delay the onset of disease in those with chronic conditions. Software-based
Telemedicine solutions provide an automated electronic record of care and
track patient outcomes, making it possible for insurers/payers to implement
Pay-for-Performance payment systems and integration of patient data into an
Electronic Health Record.
"Unified communications will drive the next major advance in individual,
team and organizational productivity in today's 24x7, always-connected and
increasingly mobile work environment," said Peter Tassiopoulos, president of
IgeaCare. "Our software-based approach puts people at the center of healthcare
monitoring communications through a single identity across a secure network.
We believe that Orange Business Services can provide the backbone of the most
scalable and secure e-Health solution on the market today."
"By combining our unique strengths, IgeaCare and Orange Business Services
will accelerate the delivery of unified healthcare monitoring and
communications, delivering to our customers a higher-quality user experience,
with greater reliability and lower total cost of ownership. That's where we
can make a real difference," said Hans van Eck-Casteels, head of e-Health in
the Americas for Orange Business Services.
This software and communications-centric approach will provide an easy
transition for healthcare providers, helping them to reduce the total cost of
ownership, future proof their investments and enable the creation of new,
innovative applications.
