Idaho General Mines Continues to Add Key Personnel to Nevada Team

    LAKEWOOD, COLO., October 8 /CNW/ - Idaho General Mines (AMEX:  GMO)
announced the appointment of Brent Chamberlin as Director of Human Resources
and Zach Spencer as Manager of External Communications. Mr. Chamberlin joins
the Company after working for Queenstake Resources and its predecessors for
sixteen years as the Human Resources and Safety Manager. Brent has nearly 30
years experience in the mining industry, including extensive experience in
Nevada, at positions in human resources, safety, public relations and
government relations.

    Mr. Spencer most recently spent three years as the Senior External
Relations Representative at Newmont Mining where he conducted communications
and media relations. Zach has more than 20 years experience in the
communications field and serves as chair of the Public Outreach Committee for
the Nevada Mining Association and as co-chair of the Elko Mining Expo.

    Bruce D. Hansen, Chief Executive Officer, said, "Successfully bringing
Mt. Hope to production requires the right employees as well as good community
and government relations. Both Brent and Zach are extremely experienced in
