Income Tax Courses to be offered in over 150 cities and towns
CALGARY, Sept. 6 /CNW/ - H&R Block Canada, the country's leading tax
preparer and tax trainer, is offering more than 275 Income Tax Courses across
Canada starting on September 17. The course is the first step in H&R Block's
plan to hire more than 1,000 new tax professionals for the 2008 tax season.
"The Income Tax Course is open to anyone who has an interest in learning
how to maximize their tax refund," said Peter Bruno, Vice President,
Operations, H&R Block Canada. "Successful students have the opportunity to
apply for a position with H&R Block and be hired as a tax professional."
The course is available in most locations across Canada and consists of
39 hours of training in the preparation of personal tax returns and 30 hours
of computer tax software training. Classes run for 11 weeks and are limited to
15-20 students per class. Students have the option three hour classes two
nights a week or one class a week for six hours.
"The courses attract a wide range of students - from recent retirees to
teachers to students," says Bruno. "And some people just take the course
because they want to make sure they know about any recent changes to their tax
return and how they can maximize their tax situation."
The course is open to anyone not currently employed in the tax
preparation field. Online registration is available at hrblock.ca or
interested students can call their local H&R Block location.
