Horwath chooses to play politics over child care

TORONTO, Sept. 2, 2011 /CNW/ - Andrea Horwath has repeatedly chosen to play politics with Tim Hudak's PCs, instead of supporting the kind of progress women across Ontario are asking for.

On help for struggling families: Ontario Liberals chose the Ontario Child Benefit - providing up to $1,100 a year to families with children.  Andrea Horwath chose Tim Hudak's PC's and voted against it.

On new child care spaces: Ontario Liberals chose to create 22,000 new child care spaces.  Andrea Horwath chose Tim Hudak's PC's and voted against creating those spaces.

On Full Day Kindergarten: Ontario Liberals chose to help children get the best start, help parents save time and up to $6,500 in child care costs. Andrea Horwath chose Tim Hudak's PCs and voted against funding Full Day Kindergarten.

Every time Andrea Horwath has to choose between help for women and their families or playing negative opposition politics with Tim Hudak and the PCs, she chooses Hudak's side.

"Women want a government that will stand with them and support child care, full day kindergarten, and support for our families.  Every time Andrea Horwath chooses Tim Hudak's side it's a message to Ontario women that she puts partisan politics ahead of them and their family."
- Laurel Broten, Liberal MPP
