Honda Fit Sets Monthly Record
TORONTO, Aug. 1 /CNW/ - Honda's automobile division reported July sales
of 12,161 units, down 8 per cent. The Acura division posted a 5 per cent
decrease with sales of 1,541 units. Honda Canada Inc. reported July sales of
13,702 units by its Honda and Acura divisions combined, down 8 per cent over
Honda's fuel-efficient Fit hatchback achieved record July sales of
1,389 units, up 8% over 2006. Honda Civic, Canada's perennial top-selling car,
continued to generate strong sales momentum, up 6 per cent year to date, with
6,032 units in July.
"Both our Fit and Civic continue to resonate with Canadians buyers
because of the balanced selection of fuel efficiency, safety and fun-to-drive
performance that these products offer," said Jim Miller, executive vice
president, Honda Canada Inc.

annually. Honda Canada manufactures the Honda Ridgeline and Civic, and the

in Alliston, with the capacity to produce up to 200,000 fuel-efficient
4-cylinder engines annually, is scheduled to open in 2008.
