Homes sold by the owners - Up 8% in the first quarter of 2009

    CHARNY, QC, April 15 /CNW Telbec/ - The number of homes sold directly by
their owners in Quebec increased by 8% in the first quarter of 2009, according
to the most recent data published by the network.
    During the first quarter of 2009, 1,339 homes were sold without
intermediaries, compared to 1,241 for the same period in 2008.

first quarter, for a total of 2,684 listings.
    The average time taken to sell a home was up slightly in the province
from 67 to 77 days for single-family homes and from 74 to 76 days for co-owned

20% over the first quarter of last year (up from 411 to 493). The greater
Montreal market has not been static either, with 6% more properties being sold
(up from 513 to 544).
