Hill & Knowlton Ottawa Grows with Appointments of Steven MacKinnon and the Hon. Don Boudria

OTTAWA, March 16 /CNW Telbec/ - Michael Coates, president and CEO of Hill
& Knowlton Canada, is pleased to announce the appointments of Steven MacKinnon
as vice president and group leader of the Ottawa communications unit, and
Don Boudria as senior counsellor, public affairs, Hill & Knowlton Ottawa.
"These senior appointments enhance our ability to provide clients the
best communications and public affairs strategic counsel in what is a very
dynamic environment," said Coates. "Steven and Don - while sharing tremendous
expertise in parliamentary affairs and the inner workings of politics - each
bring a specialized skill-set to meet the diverse needs of Ottawa's private
and public sector markets."
A seasoned communications executive, Steven MacKinnon has worked for two
decades counselling business and government leaders, including CEOs and
Prime Ministers. MacKinnon was most recently national director of the Liberal

a new Leader. He spent a decade working alongside New Brunswick's Premier,
Frank McKenna. MacKinnon also worked as senior vice president of one of
Atlantic Canada's largest communications consultancies, where he counselled
clients such as les Caisses populaires acadiennes, McCain International,
Enbridge, Dairy Farmers of Canada and Co-op Atlantic.
A recognized expert on Parliamentary procedure, the Hon. Don Boudria
transitions from his role as a senior associate to become a full-time senior
counsellor at Hill & Knowlton Ottawa. Before joining H&K, Boudria represented
the Ontario riding of Glengarry-Prescott-Russell in the House of Commons from
1984 to 2006. He was the special advisor to the opposition leader, the
Hon. Bill Graham until June 2006. During his career in Parliament he was
deputy chair and then chair of the Ontario Liberal Caucus, as well as
opposition deputy whip, chair of the Liberal Caucus Committee on Government
Operations, Liberal deputy house leader (Committees), deputy government whip
and chief government whip. In 2006 he was the campaign chair for Stephane
Dion's successful campaign for the leadership of the Liberal Party. First
appointed to Cabinet in 1996, Boudria has held several portfolios including
minister for international cooperation, minister of public works and
government services and receiver general for Canada, minister of state, and
leader of the government in the House of Commons.
