TORONTO, Aug. 15 /CNW/ - A high-risk fugitive was arrested on a Canada
Wide Immigration Warrant on August 14th by members of the Immigration Task
Force (ITF) following a foot chase through a West Toronto neighbourhood.
Police officers attempted to arrest the fugitive when he exited an apartment
complex. The suspect fled on foot and was arrested after a short struggle
during which two police officers suffered minor scrapes and bruises.

outstanding criminal matters.
"This has been a difficult four month long investigation. The suspect was
actively evading police. At times we were only an hour behind him but today,
due to some hard work and tenacity by our officers, we were able to locate him
and remove him from circulation. This is what we are here for, to improve
public and community safety." said RCMP Sgt. Tony Gollob of the Immigration
The ITF is composed of members from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police,
Canada Border Service Agency and Provincial ROPE members from the Ontario
