Hart Stores suspends dividend


    LAVAL, QC, June 12 /CNW Telbec/ - Hart Stores Inc., an operator of
mid-sized department stores (HIS:TSX), announced today that the regular
dividend has been suspended.
    Mr Harry Hart, executive chairman of Hart Stores announced, "The Board of
directors has elected to suspend the regular dividend distribution this year,
reserving the decision to issue a dividend in the future. The decision came in
light of the recent acquisition and the current economic conditions, that it
would be best to use the cash flow from its operations to fund its growth
