HarperIndex.ca joins political cyberspace

OTTAWA, June 6 /CNW Telbec/ - A website created to track the efforts of
the Harper Conservatives as they try to frame political issues is now part of
Canadian political cyberspace.
HarperIndex.ca, an online information service inspired by the views of
American professor, book author and political advisor George Lakoff and
others, was officially launched in Ottawa this morning.
Lakoff claims the way issues are framed is as important as the issues
themselves. HarperIndex.ca managing editor Ish Theilheimer said the site will
counter Conservative frames with responses based on public values.
"This is a new kind of journalism," said Theilheimer. "The website
focuses on the persuasion techniques used by the Harper Conservatives as they
attempt to get majority support. We provide the public with information, and
we make recommendations to those who oppose Harper's agenda as to how they
might counter his persuasion tactics and frames."
Every day the site adds new content that then gets added to an index of
background articles on Harper and the Conservatives.
