Hampton's NDP Abandon Northern Workers

    QUEEN'S PARK, April 11 /CNW/ - Today Howard Hampton revealed that the NDP
are abandoning workers in Thunder Bay when he called for the cancellation of
the York University subway line extension.
    Earlier today, when asked about the Toronto subway expansion, Hampton
said: "We don't need another subway mega project."
    Toronto Transit projects will support highly skilled, good paying jobs in
Thunder Bay.
    The McGuinty government remains fully committed to supporting the
extension of the York University subway line.
    Thunder Bay Superior North MPP Michael Gravelle said: "Thunder Bay
workers need to know that the McGuinty government is on their side. Our
commitment to moving the Toronto Transit project ahead is firm."
    MPP for Thunder Bay Atikokan, Bill Mauro added: "The money is on the
table. We will keep moving this plan forward."
    The NDP have abandoned workers at Bombardier in Northwestern Ontario.
