Some give the shirts off their backs; Haggar gives their pants
TORONTO, Sept. 18 /CNW/ - In celebration of Prostate Cancer Awareness
Week (September 16 to 22), leading clothier Haggar Canada is giving Canadians
another reason to support prostate cancer research.
Beginning September 16, 2007, individuals who donate $75 or more to the
Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada (PCRFC) will receive a free pair
of Haggar(R) Q(TM) pants (retail value of $60-70 CDN). Anyone who signs up as
a monthly donor, with a minimum of $240 or more (paid over a 12 month period),
will receive a free Haggar gift pack which includes Haggar(R) Q(TM) pants,
Q shirt, playing cards and a coffee mug. Haggar Canada will mail anywhere in
Canada free of charge. Promotion to run while quantities last.
"Haggar Canada is supporting prostate cancer research in a new and
innovative way," said Greg Sarney, Vice President of Corporate Development &
Marketing, PCRFC. "By providing their product free of charge, they're
inspiring Canadians to not only support research, but to connect with us and
learn more about their risk of the number one cancer threat to men. We're
grateful to Haggar for their generous support."
Details of the promotion will be featured in the Foundation's printed
promotional materials and there will be a link between the two websites:
www.haggarcanada.com and www.prostatecancer.ca. Once a gift has been verified,
the donor will receive a special code that allows him/her to complete an order
form on the Haggar website. Delivery is complimentary to anywhere in Canada.
Haggar Canada recognizes the importance of building awareness and raising
funds for prostate cancer. The disease will affect one in eight men in the
lifetime-over 22,000 Canadian men this year alone. These rates are comparable
to those of breast cancer in women. By partnering with the Prostate Cancer
Research Foundation of Canada, Haggar is supporting a very worthy cause.
"We believe in giving back to our customer when we have an opportunity to
do so," says Michael Stitt, President of Haggar Canada. "The Prostate Cancer
Research Foundation of Canada is an appropriate choice because our primary
customer is the 40 plus male, an age group that is shown to be potentially at
risk for prostate cancer. We are pleased to support Prostate Cancer Awareness
Week and the Foundation's drive to educate the public on early detection,
testing, treatments, and preventive strategies."
Haggar Canada is a Canadian apparel manufacturer and marketer of men's
