"We very much appreciate the Governor General's support for Habitat for
Humanity Canada as expressed through her generous decision to act as Habitat's
patron. The Governor General is well known for her deep commitment to social
justice. We are confident that her public expression of support will help us
achieve our goals of raising awareness of the critical issue of affordable
housing in Canada and of building a nation and a world where everyone has a
safe and decent place to live," said David Hughes, President and Chief
Executive Officer of Habitat for Humanity Canada.
