Gulbrandsen to Increase Prices for Polyurethane Additives

ORANGEBURG, S.C., June 12 /CNW/ -- Gulbrandsen Chemicals Inc. announced
today that it will increase the price of all polyurethane additive products
for deliveries on or after July 1, 2008 or as contracts permit.
The prices for CP-2 flame retardant will rise by 15% and all other
polyurethane additives will increase by 5 - 7 %.
Gulbrandsen said that all products have been significantly impacted by
the continuously rising raw material, energy, packaging and transportation
costs associated with these polyurethane additives. An unprecedented high
demand for elemental phosphorus and other key raw material used in the
manufacture of flame retardants is also driving the increase in the prices for
CP-2 flame retardant.
T-Cat catalysts, A-Cat Catalysts and CP-2 flame retardants are used in a
wide range of flexible polyurethane foams for both residential and automotive
seating and for bedding applications.
