Gulbrandsen to Increase Prices for Flame Retardant Additives

ORANGEBURG, S.C., Sept. 9 /CNW/ -- Gulbrandsen Chemicals Inc. announced
today that it will increase the prices worldwide for all CP-2 and other
chlorinated phosphate ester flame retardant products by up to 25%.
The increase takes effect for deliveries on or after October 1, 2008 or
as contracts permit.
Gulbrandsen said that these increases are needed to help offset the
enormous increases in the costs of phosphorus-based raw materials, energy and
transportation. An unprecedented global change in elemental phosphorus supply
along with other key raw material used in the manufacture of flame retardants
is driving this increase in prices.
CP-2 flame retardants are used in a wide range of flexible polyurethane
foams for both residential and automotive seating and for bedding
