Groupe Gaudreault announces a partial sale of assets to Groupe Orléans Express inc.

MONTREAL, Aug. 5 /CNW Telbec/ - Groupe Gaudreault agreed to sell some of
its assets to Groupe Orléans Express. Subject to approval by the
transportation regulatory and logistics authorities involved, the transaction
will give Groupe Orléans Express inc. the green light to handle through new
companies all of the Lanau Com, Lanau Mécano, Les Transports Fagnant, Sabem,
Autobus Lachenaie and Autocars Murray Hill operations and most of the Lanau
Bus operations. Consequently, areas to benefit from Groupe Orléans Express
inc. transit and intercity transportation services are the RCM Les Moulins,
RCM L'Assomption and a large section of the Lanaudière region under the
responsibility of the Conseil régional de transport de Lanaudière (Lanaudière
Regional Transport Council). Regarding school transportation, Groupe Orléans
Express inc. will shuttle students from des Affluents, des Samares and
Wilfrid-Laurier School Boards.
"We're delighted that a world-class company such as Groupe Orléans
Express inc. has decided to acquire some of our assets. Service users will
continue to enjoy high quality transportation for their commute and our
employees will keep their jobs; those were two priorities for us," explained
Groupe Gaudreault's two owners/shareholders Manon and Martin Gaudreault.
However, Groupe Gaudreault continues operations at its four other
business locations: Joliette, Saint-Jacques, Trois-Rivières and Anjou. So from
the Joliette terminal, Groupe Gaudreault will operate its charter division in
addition to the transit and intercity transportation in Greater Joliette and
the North section of Lanaudière region, along with school transportation for
des Samares School Board and part des Affluents School Board. School
transportation for the Chemin-du-Roy School Board and charter services will be
handled through the Trois-Rivières terminal. School transportation for the
Pointe-de-l'Ile, Marguerite Bourgeoys and Montreal School Boards as well as
charter services will be operated from the Anjou facilities. Some students
from des Samares School Board will be riding in buses provided by the
municipality of Saint-Jacques.
