Grey Island's InterFleet, Inc. Announces $US 4 M GPS/AVL Project with Ohio's Franklin County

Central Ohio Management Based Applied Technology (COMBAT) Collaborative

TORONTO, April 11 /CNW Telbec/ - Grey Island Systems International, Inc.,
("Grey Island"), (TSX VENTURE: GIS) wholly owned subsidiary InterFleet Inc. is
pleased to announce that the Board of County Commissioners of Franklin County
(Ohio) approved and awarded a contract resulting from an RFP for a GPS/AVL
System for Franklin County Engineer's Office. Total value of the contract is
$US 4,093,826.
The GPS/AVL system will be used by the Central Ohio Management Based
Applied Technology (COMBAT) collaborative. COMBAT is composed of the City of
Columbus and Franklin County Engineers Office with Franklin County acting as
the lead agency for the project.
The system will be connected to a Dataradio private radio system to
transmit vehicle information to two command centers - one hosted by the City
of Columbus and the other by Franklin County Engineers Office. The project
contains a GIS map update in compliance with the Central Ohio Regional ITS
Architecture. Using these map updates with InterFleet's patented browser-based
software, COMBAT members will have access to live information on snow and ice
operations, mowing operations and street sweeping operations among others.
Grey Island's Executive VP, Brian Boychuk stated "InterFleet's
specialization in local government and state government fleet applications
means it has tackled many of their respective operational issues that GPS/AVL
can address. Innovations such as Route Completion Reporting that provide
up-to-the-minute status of percent route completion during winter storms as
well as customized outfitting of vehicles raise the bar for the use of
technology in government settings".
"This project is a great example of the increasing sophistication of
local government end-users of GPS/AVL to apply the technology to their
specific requirements" said Grey Island President, Owen Moore.
