    This groundbreaking new report is a comprehensive look at the latest in
Canada-specific solutions for dramatically reducing greenhouse gas emissions
while growing our economy for the new century.
    Greenpeace International's global Energy (R)evolution project is a
world-wide plan to stop catastrophic climate change now. To bring the
revolution home, Greenpeace Canada joined with the EREC to provide this
solutions-based study that shows Canadians a way to dramatically reduce global
warming emissions with the technology we already have.
    Canada's climate policies are among the weakest in the world, and its
emissions continue to increase. While Europe has agreed to greenhouse gas
reductions of 20 to 30% by 2020, and the U.S. is aggressively forging a new
green economy, the Canadian government continually lives up to its
international reputation of being a climate villain.
    Canada's Energy (R)evolution scenario is a blueprint for the transition
to a clean, green energy supply, and Canadian governments have no excuse for

    Christine Lins is the Secretary General of the European Renewable Energy
Council (EREC), the EU's largest association of renewable energy corporations.
She is a graduate of the University of Linz, in Austria, and has more than 12
years of working experience in the field of renewable energy sources. She
specializes in the management of international projects, and is a policy
advisor on renewable energy.
    Sven Teske is the primary author of Energy (R)evolution. He heads up the
global Energy (R)evolution research project and is Director of Renewable
Energy with Greenpeace International. He founded Greenpeace Energy, Germany's
only cooperative in the power sector. He has published over 30 special reports
about renewable energy, including Global Wind Energy Outlook, Solar
Generation, and is a lead author for the Special Report on Renewable Energy,
to be published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2010.
    Dave Martin is a co-author of Energy (R)evolution and is the Climate &
Energy Coordinator for Greenpeace Canada. He is a researcher, policy analyst
and campaigner with 25 years of experience working on conservation, renewable
technology, nuclear power, and climate change.
