MONTREAL, Oct. 20 /CNW Telbec/ - The Annual Caregiver Resource Fair will
be held on Sunday, November 2, 2008 from 11am to 5pm at the Centre Mont-Royal,
2200 Mansfield. The Professionals Networking for Caregivers (PNC) and its
corporate partner Uniprix, will join together in their efforts to respond to
the ever-increasing needs of caregivers for support and resources.
Representatives from both the public and private sector will be present at the
Fair to offer guidance and information to the caregivers and health
professionals in attendance.
Following last year's Fair, a motion presented by Marguerite Blais,
Minister responsible for seniors, to officially recognize Caregivers' Week as
the 1st week of November was unanimously passed in the National Assembly. This
year, Ms. Blais will be present once again to offer opening remarks and to
highlight this vital issue and the contributions made by caregivers. The
importance of caregivers' needs and the Resource Fair in particular have once
again been recognized by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux
which continues to offer support.
The invaluable participation of its partners will enable the PNC to offer
an exciting program to those attending. "In addition to the information booths
where caregivers can get information to help them in their role, this year we
have made a particular effort to also provide them with an opportunity to
relax, unwind and have fun," says Ella Amir, Director of AMI-Quebec and PNC
member. "Oftentimes caregivers forget to tend to their own emotional and
physical needs and it is our intention to highlight the importance of that."
