TORONTO, Aug. 7, 2008 /CNW/ - GO Transit hosted its annual KidSummer
event today taking hundreds of kids on an exciting train ride from Union
Station to Exhibition Place. The kids were greeted by the redesigned GO Bear
mascot, enjoyed games, checked out a GO Bus, and learned many important rail
The event began in the GO concourse at Union Station. While waiting to
board the train, kids and caregivers enjoyed GO's miniature safety village and
took part in activities like colouring and face-painting.
At Exhibition station, participants were welcomed off the train by
GO Bear. Transit enforcement officers then gave an interactive safety
presentation on the dangers of playing near trains or on tracks. A light,
healthy lunch was provided by Bombardier Transportation.
With painted faces and full tummies, GO's KidSummer participants boarded
a train back to Union. GO is proud to educate the commuters of tomorrow about
rail safety. This was GO's 13th year participating in KidSummer.
